Happy Fall

Wow, it's been a while. Here's a little felt acorn...it's about 2" high. I'm getting excited about a new project I'm working on. Stay posted!

Baby Bug Shirts

So, I'm working on these shirts for your little ones. For those of us who would like to counter some of the cuteness. A nice way to balance things out.

They are made with fabric markers that use completely non-toxic fabric dyes. The design wraps around to the back.

I have sizes newborn, 6 months, 12 months & 18 months. I'm still working on pricing, but let me know if your interested...more designs to come!

Bearly Musicians

So this is my new series of drawings that will eventually become baby shirt designs. I'm not sure how well the musicians I am choosing will sell. But at least they are amusing me!

Has anyone heard of these guys?

Felting felting

I think I'm finally getting the knack on this wool felting business...

This is the rest of my thrift store purchase wool sweater. Is it still cool enough anywhere to wear wool sweaters? I propose we turn them all into felted wool softies!
I made another awesome purchase...rubber gloves! I found these at World Market and they're all grippy and heavy duty. Now my skin doesn't rub off when I felt! Bonus!

Meet the Shapes!

Here's the newest additions to the Twiggy Squiggy softie family. They're going to be great for a baby's room. I'm going to construct a mobile so they can dazzle fans of all ages.
And I have to send you over to check out my favorite Dallas band, The Shapes!

The number 2

My little boy turned two today. So I made him a "2" softie. Here's my pattern.

And here's the finished product. It turned out a little thinner than I expected.

I think it really has some personality.

Two Little Black Birds

Two little black birds sitting on a hill
One named Jack, one named Jill
Fly away Jack, fly away Jill
Come back Jack, come back Jill

This is something we have fun with. Wesley makes the bird fly away and come back. I made these with some awesome wool felt I bought from the Twining Thread. Their website has been under construction for months! I wish they would come back.

Tiny "E"

It's never to early to rock and roll, right? Yeah! I mean No! This is a hand painted Elvis onesie. I was afraid the glitter paint would be too rough for baby. But it's not bad at all. In fact, it has a nice tactile effect. Babies love that kind of stuff.

Felt Helicopters

This is a recent project I've been working on. Wesley is obsessed with helicopters. And most of the toy ones are too pointy for an almost two year old.

The felt is made from a stripey thrift-store sweater. The helicopter is my own design.

I made a few improvements on the second one. It was for Wesley's little friend Darleen. AND I am working on five more for The Gypsy Wagon.

Twiggy Squiggy lives!

Hi and welcome! I intend for this blog to be about what I am really working on at the time. So, with that in mind, I'd like to show you how I made the header image for the new blog!

I decided to put my new stamp set to use (instead of agonizing over fonts). Also note the twiggy model in the background. It was drawn in ink and then hand watercolored.

I wanted the lettering color to match the illustration, so I brushed the paint on to the stamps instead of using an ink pad. I like the rough results.

I welcome your comments. Thanks for visiting!
